Feng Chia University is one of the most famous Universities in Taiwan and because of their one of the biggest night market in Taiwan also they are rank 19th among all universities in Taiwan based on The National Website. Feng Chia calculated in the Xitun District which is calculated as the metropolitan place it’s near Taichung city hall. Feng Chia university is a Private University it’s not a government kind of University. Here in Feng Chia, there are a lot of foreign students and the Feng Chia Environment is very friendly.
逢甲大學是台灣最著名的大學之一,因為他們的夜市也有他們另外一個特別的東西。 逢甲算在西屯區,算作離台中市政府很近的都會區。 逢甲大學是私立大學,不是公立大學。 逢甲有很多外國學生,逢甲環境非常友好。


逢甲夜市 Feng Chia Night Market
Feng Chia night market was established for a long time ago about 1960 more or less. Feng Chia night market was just near at Feng Chia university.
Food/drink stands and restaurants were built along Wen-Hua road and this road is the most crowded road in the Feng Chia night market. This area is the most expensive food/drink stall compared to the other road.
There is a lot of famous food stall over there. Feng Chia night market expanded their places until now they have Feng Chia road (逢甲路), Fuxing road (福星路), Xi’an street (西安街) and many more.
Feng Chia is not that kind of night market we can also call Feng Chia as a shopping market because whatever you are looking for in Feng Chia they have.
逢甲夜市成立於1960年左右,歷史悠久。 逢甲夜市就在逢甲大學附近。
文華路沿線建有餐飲攤位和餐廳,這條路是逢甲夜市最擁擠的路。 與另一條道路相比,該區域是最昂貴的食品/飲料攤位。

The next stop is the short-legged deer, which is a very popular souvenir in Taichung.You can usually see a lot of people queuing at four o’clock in the afternoon. Its characteristic is that each branch only sells one flavor. Fengjia store sells cocoa flavor, Hankou store sells cheese flavor, and Dadun store sells original flavor. Have you ever bought it as a souvenir? I have bought it many times, and I am always attracted by boxes of different festivals. Which flavor of biscuits do you like? My favorite is the taste of cocoa. The rich cocoa always wins my heart.

The next stop is Nostalgia Military Village Food. My name is Didi and I will introduce about this danbing store. The place is small but it represent the classic breakfast store inside of the traditional market in Taichung. This danbing is located inside of Huilai traditional market (惠來市場) which open from 6:30 to 12:00. Danbing is Taiwanese egg pancake usually eaten at breakfast. Have you ever tried danbing before? Do you like it? What flavor of danbing do you usually order? Is it suitable your taste? In your country is there any food that similar to danbing? This danbing is very special because unlike other danbing, the pancake skin is more chewy and the sauce is very special because they use garlic which makes the taste flavorful. And by the way, have you tried pitan or century egg? Do you like it? Do you know that pitan or century egg is one of the bizzare food in Taiwan? Century egg is a chicken / duck/ quail egg that processed for weeks or months in a clay, ash, quicklime mixture, and salt to produce the black egg with dark green yolk. It have intense taste dan heavy smell that not every person like it. And it is come from china six centuries ago, that’s why it’s named century egg. This danbing store also sells century egg danbing which you can try. As a foreigner too, when I tried this danbing, I feel overwhelmed because I can try the classic danbing store and try different unique taste of danbing.

Our next destination is one of the most popular stores here(Taichung) which is YiFuTang Suncake. My name is Jeff, and now I’m giving you guys the tour about the last 2 store/places from our group destinations.
So Do you guys know about A suncake, or taiyang bing? Have you guys heard it before? suncake, or taiyang bing, is a popular Taiwanese dessert originally from the city of Taichung, Taiwan. The typical fillings consist of maltose (condensed malt sugar), and they are usually sold in special gift boxes as souvenirs for visitors.
The first suncakes were made by the Lin family in the She-Ko area of Shengang Township, which is in part of Taichung city.The Lin family used condensed malt sugar as a filling for cake pastries. Later, pastry maker Wei Qing-hai modified the cakes to their current form. But let me inform you guys, this cake contains milk so if one of you guys is lactose intolerant, I suggest that you be careful.

The last stop is Taro Cake. one of the most famous cakes from Taiwan besides suncakes. Why are both of these cakes famous here? Do you guys have any ideas? Because both of the founders come from Taichung or you guys can say they are local people. But the difference is only the place and when they discover the cakes. TaiyangBing or Suncakes are found in 1949 while Taro Cake are found in 1980. Suncake found in Shengang while Taro cakes are found in Dajia.
we’re now at one of the most popular brands of Taro cake in Taichung, ShanMai. They developed the first taro pastry with Dajia taro in 1998. The filled stuffing and fresh taste not only make Shan Mai Taro pastry well-known in Taiwan, but also win the award(They achieved a lot of awards throughout the year). Other important thing is to raise the income level of farmers and the cost-effectiveness of Dajia Taro agriculture. Besides taro Cake, ShanMai also sells nougat, pineapple cake, etc.
